Education Benefits
FREE class per semester
CPCC encourages its full-time employees to take advantage of several opportunities to pursue educational opportunities. Per PPM 4.14, every full-time employee is eligible to take a curriculum class or a Corporate and Continuing Education (CCE) course free of charge each semester. Employees are responsible for the cost of their own books, supplies and all applicable fees. Register on-line or in person, and tuition for one curriculum class is cancelled at the cashier’s desk.
Full-time employees may enroll in a CCE course on a space-as–available basis. Again, employees are responsible for the purchase of books and supplies. To request a seat if space is available, complete a CCE form available on the Professional Development website, obtain the required signatures and submit to CCE.
Educational Assistance for Spouses and Dependent Children
Central Piedmont Community College will provide a scholarship, in the form of a tuition discount, for spouses and dependent children of full-time employees with at least one year of service when enrolled in curriculum or occupational extension courses at the College. The amount of the discount shall be no more than one-half of the tuition and will be based on in-state tuition rates. The program will be supported with auxiliary funds. Self-supporting classes are not covered by this policy. Please refer to the Policies and Procedures Manual for additional regulations.
