Career and College Promise

CCP Registration begins on May 7th

Students should check with their guidance counselors and/or career and development coordinators at their respective high schools to see if any additional deadlines and/or guidelines exist for this program.

Career and College Promise is a new initiative by Governor Beverly Perdue which provides seamless dual enrollment educational opportunities for eligible North Carolina high school students. Central Piedmont Community College will be hosting two information sessions to provide information on this program.

Career and College Promise provides the following options for students while they are still in high school:

  • A College Transfer Pathway leading to a minimum of 30 hours of college credit OR
  • A Career Technical Pathway leading to a certificate, diploma or degree
  • A Cooperative Innovative High School Pathway (an example of this is the Cato Middle College High School)

To be eligible, a high school student must meet with their career development coordinator or guidance counselor to determine if they are college ready.  For specific criteria, please refer to the following Career and College Promise Operating Procedures document from the State Office.

Central Piedmont Community College is currently working on State approval for the Pathways we will offer in Spring 2012 semester.  CPCC is also working on a new registration process for Career and College Promise students which should be in place by mid-November.

Please refer back to this website as often as possible for registration information about Career and College Promise at CPCC.
