Richard Kugelmann, Division Director of Hospitality Education Richard graduated from Methodist University in 1982 with a degree in Business and from Central Piedmont Community College in 1996 with a degree in Culinary Technology. Richard is a native of Germany and came to America when he was 5 years old. After several years in banking and finance, Richard entered the foodservice industry and spent 10 years working for hotels and restaurants as both a chef and a general manager. He was a proprietor with Outback Steakhouse. He owned several restaurants in Fayetteville, NC before entering culinary education. His last position was Department Chair for Fayetteville Technical Community College’s Culinary Program. Richard currently serves as President of the North Carolina Chapter of the American Culinary Federation.
