New classroom

Students:

We are excited to announce that your lecture classes will all be held in a room directly off the open computer lab.  The actual classroom is room 2239, however you will have to enter the main computer lab to access it.  With this change comes a few rules that we will need to be aware of and follow:

1.  The computer lab typically does not open as early as our 1st lecture class of the day.  Security will unlock the door for us, in order for us to access our specific classroom, however we will not be allowed to congregate, sit at or use any of the computers in the open lab until a computer lab technician is on site.  This essentially means we cannot enter the lab until the instructor motions for you to enter.

2. During breaks in instruction, there can be no talking, noise (laughter, etc.) or loitering in the open computer lab because of disturbance to other students using the facility.  We must be mindful of this very important point.

3.  Our classroom will have computers on each desk and there will be times when we will need to use them.  It is critical that no "open" beverages sit on any of the desks and or surroundings.  We have been advised that we can have bottled water with us but screwtops must be used at all times.  In addition, these computers will only be used for classroom purposes and never are to be used for personal business. (even during down-time).

4.  As we become more familiar with our new classroom environment and the surrounding area, I am sure we will hear of other issues as they arise which will require some adjustment on our part, however the benefit of using this room will definitely outweigh any inconveniences that may result.

5.  Please remember to have your student picture id badge with you and wear it prior to entering the computer lab.  It may be a good idea to keep this in your locker so it is not an issue for you.

Thank you, in advance, for helping to make this transition to our new classroom an easy one!  It was an easy decision for the school administration to select our Program to use this classroom, as they were certain their guidelines for use would be respected by our students.
