DANB RE - CERTIFICATION
As you are aware, once you have successfully completed the 3 components of the Dental Assisting National Board and earned your CDA credential, it is critical to renew your certification each year by completing a pre-determined amount of continuing education, as well as paying an annual re-certification fee.
Certificants must complete 12 Continuing Dental Education (CDE) credits and maintain their CPR certification for 2014 recertification.
A renewal notice will be mailed to you approximately 6 weeks prior to the certification expiration date, at the same address you previously provided to DANB. You will be asked to sign a statement attesting that CDE and CPR requirements have been met and return the statement with the appropriate renewal fee to DANB. Certificants are randomly selected for verification (audit) of their CDE credits and CPR, and must provide proof of their continuing education
DO NOT SEND DOCUMENTATION UNLESS REQUESTED, AS DANB WILL NOT RETURN OR RETAIN MATERIALS.
Category Maximums for CDE Credits:
Clinical Practice = 12 CDE accepted, Dental Office Management = 3 CDE accepted, DANB and Other Dental Related Exams = 12 CDE accepted, Volunteer Service or Scholarly Activity = 3 CDE accepted.
