Awards, Honors & Scholarships

 

The Substance Abuse Program encourages, fosters and recognizes the outstanding achievement of its students through the following awards and honors:

Student Excellence Awards - These are the recent Substance Abuse Program students who were recognized at CPCC's annual Student Excellence Convocation, a celebration of the achievements of CPCC’s outstanding students. Students are nominated by program faculty every spring.

2015 Honoree - Monica Prestage

Work Place Learning/Internship Award - Every spring CPCC presents awards to students who have excelled in their cooperative education/internship placements. In May 2015, one of our star SAB students, Joseph Hampton, recieved the CPCC Outstanding Co-op Student of the Year for the entire College. Congratulations, Joe!

Tau Upsilon Alpha Honor Society - This is the Kappa Chapter of the National Organization of Human Services Honor Society which inducts new members every spring.

The Bettie Dibrell Memorial Scholarship - This is a scholarship designed to assist students in the Substance Abuse Program achieve their educational goals thereby contributing to the education and support of others in this field in the passionate spirit of educator Bettie Dibrell. Scholarship applications are accepted every spring.

 

Faculty Awards - Tony Beatty was recognized in October 2014 for his long-standing service to the Addiction Professionals of North Carolina. Congratulations, Tony!
