With fourteen thoughtfully-designed conference rooms and a dedicated professional staff, HCC combines high-tech features with high-touch service. The facility includes video conferencing capabilities, high-end furnishings and retreat-like setting designed for the comfort of as many as 500 meeting attendees. To date HCC has welcomed more than 40,000 meeting attendees. HCC has hosted meetings and events for more than 300 organizations since opening, with 80 percent of clients returning to the conference center after their first meeting. The conference center has been named to honor The James J. and Angelia M. Harris Foundation, a private charitable trust based in Charlotte and dedicated to advancing knowledge, alleviating suffering and enlarging opportunities for the greatest number of people. Due in part to the Foundation's generous gift, HCC opened in January 2005. HCC is affiliated with Central Piedmont Community College, an innovative and comprehensive college that advances the life-long educational development of students consistent with their needs, interests, and abilities while strengthening the economic, social, and cultural life of its diverse community. CPCC intends to become the national leader in workforce development. CPCC's Corporate & Continuing Education department serves more than 2,700 businesses, and focuses on existing, entrepreneurial and transitional workers. Award winning Computer Training, Real Estate, Insurance and Small Business programs offer exciting opportunities for professional growth. Additionally, training programs in Leadership, Management and Professional Development, and New and Expanding Industry focus on developing and enhancing professional skills needed in today's diverse and fast-paced business environment.
