Why Graphic Arts and Imaging Technology?
Printing is America’s third largest manufacturing industry. Nationwide it employs 1.1 million people and has annual sales of over $640 billion. The industry is also very active locally with North and South Carolina employing 12,357 and reaching annual sales of 2.2 billion. Industries in the printing subsector print products such as books, labels, business cards, etc and perform support activities such as data imaging and design, platemaking services, and bookbinding.
Our Graphic Arts & Imaging Technology curriculum is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in the printing, publishing, packaging and related industries. Graduates should qualify for a career in these fields.
Students will receive hands-on training in:
- Pre-press and Digital Imaging Design Software and Color Management
- Imaging Technology
- Offset Lithography
- Screen Printing
- Emerging Printing Technologies
- Most classes include custom printing of your personalized designed art
Our GAIT Program includes both Curriculum and Industry Training programs at the Harper National Flexograpic Center.
