Central Piedmont Community College's (CPCC) graduation ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 10 a.m. in Bojangles' Coliseum.

Who is eligible to participate in the ceremony?

Summer and fall graduates of degree and diploma programs from the previous year, as well as current spring graduates, are invited to participate in this ceremony.

Potential Summer 2019 graduates with a GPA of 2.0 or better—who can demonstrate to the Graduation Office that they have two courses or less to be completed during the Summer 2019 term—may request permission from the Graduation Office to participate in the spring ceremony. These students should provide proof of registration for their final courses. This request should be made once students have registered for their summer courses and have applied for summer graduation (after May 1).

Please note: The names of potential Summer 2019 graduates will not appear in the program.

When will I receive information about the ceremony?

Detailed information will be emailed to eligible students' CPCC student email accounts in April. Please continue to monitor your CPCC student email account even if you have graduated.

Where can I purchase my cap and gown?

Caps and gowns can be reserved online which will go live February 8, 2019 until midnight March 31, 2019. Reserved caps and gowns may be picked up by eligible graduates at the Central Campus Bookstore beginning at the Graduation Fair April 30th and May 1st. Notification of the Graduation Fair will be sent out via email to your CPCC student email account.

What if I would like to participate in the graduation ceremony, but I borrowed a cap and gown?

The use of a cap and gown not purchased through the CPCC bookstore must be approved by the Graduation Office prior to the graduation ceremony.
Purchasing graduation regalia through the bookstore provides confirmation that you will participate in the graduation ceremony. Therefore, if you do not purchase a cap and gown through the bookstore, you are required to purchase a tassel. If you do not purchase the tassel, there will not be a name card for you at the graduation ceremony.

Is there a rehearsal for the graduation ceremony?

There is no rehearsal for the college graduation ceremony.

What time should I arrive at the graduation ceremony?

Doors will open for the college ceremony at 9:00 a.m. on May 16. Graduates may begin arriving at that time. Please arrive dressed in your cap and gown, and make arrangements to leave your belongings (purses, cell phones and other items.), as there are no dressing rooms or lockers available.

How many guests may I invite? Do they need tickets?

All seating is first come, first serve. You may invite as many guests as you like; they do not need tickets to gain admission to Bojangles' Coliseum.

How much does parking cost?

Parking is free. Please allow plenty of time for traffic.

How long will the ceremony take?

The ceremony will last approximately two hours.

Will I receive my degree or diploma at the ceremony?

Degree and diplomas are not issued at the ceremony. All students receive a commemorative lithograph from the College President.
