The Difference Between Graduation & the Ceremony
Graduation refers to actually receiving a credential (degree, diploma, certificate) once you have been certified by the College as having met all requirements. Upon certification, the credential is awarded and noted in the CPCC student information system so that it displays on CPCC transcripts. Credentials are printed and mailed after the degree certification process is complete.
The Graduation Ceremony is an event. It is an opportunity for students, families, friends and the CPCC community to celebrate their academic accomplishments. Participation in the ceremony does not mean that you have graduated and you will not receive your degree or diploma on that day. CPCC holds one ceremony each year.
