Clay Pigeon Challenge Cup--Another Success!
The fifth annual Clay Pigeon Challenge Cup at Meadow Wood Farm in Waxhaw, NC was another huge success for the College generating over $130,000 through sponsorships, registrations, and in-kind gifts. Ken Kluttz, Scott Pope, Ricky Kanoy, and Stan Radford each took top honors shooting a perfect 50 of 50 clays. Stan Radford won the “Best Overall” trophy in a four-man shoot-off. The Cameron Harris Team took top team honors for the third consecutive year with a score of 244 of a possible 250.

The event provides for scholarships and unrestricted support for the College. If you love to shoot this is the event for you. It is a great opportunity for companies to entertain clients or treat employees to a great day of fun and food. We are already receiving registrations for the Friday, May 22, 2009 event. There are limited slots and sponsorship opportunities so reserve your spot early by contacting Reade Baker at 704-330-6012..

The Clay Pigeon Challenge Cup, like other CPCC Foundation events, helps raise money in support of scholarships and programs at Central Piedmont Community College. CPCC is a leader in workforce development and the CPCC Foundation, through its campaigns and events helps keep the college economically accessible.

Novice Shooter Program

Safety and shooting instructions will be available from expert instructors for all novice guests of registered shooters for an additional $25, so bring friends and family age 12 and up who want to learn this wonderful sport from the best! "Classes" will be held while the competition is in full swing. Come prepared to learn important gun safety and how to shoot using guns provided.
