Library Search Tools
There is not
a universal search engine to find information. You need to know
which search tool will best find the information you’re seeking: for
example, if you’re looking for an article, you wouldn’t use the
library catalog. If you’re looking for a library book, you wouldn’t
use the Web. So how do you know which tool to use?
Here are some
examples of the search tools used by CPCC Libraries:
 |
CLICK, the online
library catalog,
directs you to books, e-books, videos, journals,
etc. in the library's collection. |
|
Library
databases, which are listed on the
library database homepage, point to articles
published in magazines, journals, and newspapers.
Many of the databases
contain the entire text (or full text) of the
article. To start searching for articles, click here. |
|
|
Search engines are
excellent tools for finding information like current news,
company annual reports, consumer health information, and so on.
-
Google/unclesam
searches government statistics,
government and academic websites and government-sponsored
research.
