Learning Network

Learning Networks

Learning Networks promote student engagement and retention but are labor and resource intensive. Students typically live in the same dorm, take classes together, and participate in social events outside of class time, while instructors plan and participate as a team. This approach does not lend itself well to many CPCC students or faculty. A slightly different approach to combining social engagement with academic coursework is through a learning network.

Objectives:

  • Increase first year student success, retention and completions through social and academic engagement
  • Increase student awareness and use of academic success services and student life events
  • Allow full time status using part time scheduling
    • Provide an opportunity for students to earn significant credits toward an AAS or transfer degree
