*** IMPORTANT VRAP PAYMENT ANNOUNCEMENT ***

The VA’s authority to issue payments under VRAP ends March 31, 2014. To ensure payment for current enrollment periods, all enrollment certifications must be submitted no later than March 17, 2014. Enrollments will not be accepted after that date. If your enrollment period extends beyond March 31, you may be eligible for an additional lump-sum payment to complete the training period. Please see the details below.


1.  WHO IS ELIGIBLE FOR A LUMP SUM PAYMENT?

The decision has been made to distribute a lump sum payment to those eligible Veterans certified to receive VRAP educational benefits as of March 17, 2014. Veterans considered eligible to receive the lump sum payment will be those veteran students enrolled full-time prior to March 2014 and maintain through the remainder of the term.

2.  WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF A LUMP SUM PAYMENT?

The lump sum payment will enable this cohort of veteran student to receive payment while completing their current term of instruction between now and June 30th.  I t does not provide anyone more than the original program’s 12 months of benefits.

3.  WILL ATTENDANCE BE VERIFIED?

Per VA guidelines, all VRAP participants must verify attendance on or after March 31, 2014, for training pursued in March to receive payment. Attendance may be verified via VA’s Web Automated Verification of Enrollment (WAVE) at https://www.gibill.va.gov/wave/

4.  DO CHANGES IN ENROLLMENT HAVE TO BE REPORTED?

Participants should report any changes in enrollment that occur on or after April 1, 2014, to their school certifying official and to VA at 1-888-GI Bill-1 (1-888-442-4551).
