The Futures Institute Participates in:
Crossroads Charlotte is a special initiative of The Foundation for The Carolinas and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, managed by the Community Building Initiative. It’s intent is to examine possible future scenarios for CPCC and the community and to provide opportunity for collaboration with other community organizations, institutions and individuals to take action. The goal of Crossroads Charlotte is to choose and pursue a future for Charlotte based on intentional choices and creative foresight.
Team Members include; Dr. Rod Townley, Richard Zollinger, Winston Edmonds, Mary Vickers-Koch, Susan Oleson, Lydall Hare, Debbie Bouton, Kathy Drumm, Terri Manning, JJ McEachern, Dr. Marcia Conston, Michael Horn and Ernie McLaney. Also enlisted for support were Marianne Palafox and Claudia Farnandez.

Calendar of Events
August 2005: CPCC Crossroads team is organized and meets to learn and discuss details of the project.
September - November 2005: CPCC team continues to meet monthly to develop a draft proposal for the college's Crossroads initiative.
February - May 2006: CPCC team partners with the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County to expand and further develop a literacy based initiative under the Crossroads Charlotte program. A single, joint initiative is prepared for presentation to the city-wide organizational meeting on June 7, 2006.
June 2006: Crossroads Charlotte Organizational Meeting. Participating members throughout Charlotte/Mecklenburg region meet to submit their initiatives and to review, offer and receive feedback.
