Sustainability at CPCC

Central Piedmont Community College (CPCC) is committed to a sustainable existence in support of the Charlotte Mecklenburg area. CPCC is very engaged in regional environmental, social and economic sustainability efforts while maintaining the mission of education.

While many of the school’s functions associated with the education process are energy-intensive, we have put in place many tools and practices to mitigate the school’s contribution to global warming, reduce its carbon footprint and reduce CO2 emissions.

The goal of Central Piedmont Community College’s sustainability policy is to create a realistic and comprehensive document that identifies social, environmental and economic sustainability as significant issues for the entire college community. This document, when developed, will detail steps that will be taken to address these issues and reach the sustainability goals of the school. This policy will be reviewed and updated periodically as public awareness, management techniques and technologies change.
