Create an imaginary neighborhood. Divide the class into groups. Ask each group to address one of the areas below and discuss how a neighborhood association might handle that particular situation. Ask the groups to present their ideas to the class.

1. Many neighbors have had their cars broken into during the past month. How can the association help?

2. Some people have expressed a desire to improve the looks of the entrance to the neighborhood. What can the association do?

3. Many people are driving too fast through the neighborhood. Can the organization help to solve the problem?

4. Some neighbors have voiced the desire to have parties for the children during the different holiday seasons. Can the neighborhood provide this?

5. The trash is now always picked up on the specified day. What can the neighborhood association do?
