Technical Career Ladders

Technical Career Ladders focuses specifically on training in technical areas. While working through certificate programs at CPCC, students receive focused English language support and career guidance. Currently, the program offers certificate courses and English language support in the following:

  • Applied Electrical Technology--Residential/Commercial
    The Electrical Technology Residential-Commercial Certificate allows graduates to enter the Electrical profession at an entry level. This program includes hands-on activities with topics such as basic wiring, National Electric Code and other subjects as local needs require.   • Basic Machining Skills
    The Machining Technology Certificate enables the graduate to enter the machining profession at an entry level. This program will include basic hands-on activities on equipment commonly used in the industry. Coursework will apply toward the Machining Technology Associate in Applied Science degree program.   • Fast Track Carpentry
    The Fast Track Carpentry Certificate is designed to prepare individuals for careers in both residential and light commercial carpentry. Instruction includes safety, introduction to blueprints, orientation to the construction trades, hand and power tool use, floor, wall roof and ceiling framing, foundations and concrete flat work, along with window and door installation.  For specific details about the Carpentry Certificate please contact Steve Corriher 704.330.4421
  • Print Shop Technician
    The Graphic Arts & Imaging Technology entry level Printing Technician Certificate is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in printing, publishing, packaging, and related industries. Students will receive hand-on training in computer publishing, imaging technology, offset lithography, graphic design, and multimedia. Students who obtain this one semester certificate should qualify for entry-level assistant opportunities in the areas of press, prepress, bindery and more.  For specific details about the Print shop Program please contact Gareth Burns 704.330.4425
  • Basic Motorsport Certificate
    The Auto Body Repair with a Specialization in Racing Certificate Program is designed to provide learners with an education in skill sets related to racing careers. The courses offer basic instruction in Painting, Fabrication, Machining, and Welding; as well as strengthen communication skills relevant to the performance automotive industry.  For specific details about the EMotorsport Certificate please contact dave Bowen 704.330.4156
  • Basic Office Technology
    The Office System Technology Certificate is designed to prepare individuals to enter clerical office occupations.
    This purpose will be fulfilled through skill development in the areas of word processing, records management and ten-key skills.
