Connecting Education and Energy Careers

Since 2007, energy companies in the Charlotte area have created more than 4,000 new jobs, bringing the total number of individuals employed in the energy industry to 24,500 on the regional level.
As a result, the Queen City has emerged as an energy hub, boasting 11.5 percent of the nation’s nuclear power production. While the region is home to traditional energy industries, including coal, hydroelectric and nuclear, it is also on the cutting edge of non-traditional and sustainable energy industries that offer even more growth and jobs in the future.
CPCC is committed to maintaining a strong, energy workforce on the local level. Each year, the College partners with a variety of energy industry businesses, equipping the region’s business and industry with skilled professionals to move their companies forward. CPCC accomplishes this through its innovative curriculum programs and non-credit courses that give local energy professionals the knowledge and skills they need to make Charlotte an energy industry powerhouse.
