PALS

PALS Class Description:

This course teaches healthcare providers the skills and knowledge they need to perform Advanced Life Support (ALS) resuscitation on an infant or child in respiratory or cardiac distress.

Note: PALS does not teach rhythm recognition or pharmacology. Participants are expected to be proficient in these areas prior to attending.


Prerequisites:

Participants must be a healthcare provider whose activities demand proficiency in pediatric ALS. Approved certification levels include EMT-P, RN, DO and MD. Other certification levels may be approved for full admission or course auditing at the Programs Director's discretion.
Candidates are encouraged to have successfully completed a Basic Life Support (BLS) course within the last year and are required to demonstrate pediatric BLS proficiency throughout the PALS course.
