How to use your Employee Student es Account
Blackboard instructors: Have you ever wondered, “I wish I could see my class as my students see it.” Well, you can! The Employee Student es Account was created for exactly that purpose. It’s your UserID, but ending with es instead of e. Maybe you’ve seen it in your course roster and wondered what it’s for. If you’re not already taking advantage of this handy tool…
Here’s how it works:
Create a Password for your es Account
Login to the CAW (http://inside.cpcc.edu; sixth item in the menu)
Click on the Resources tab.
In Course Assistance, click on "Reset my student password".
Enter a password according to the criteria indicated. (Many people use the same PW as for their CPCC ID)
Click Change Password.
Enter a password according to the criteria indicated. (Many people use the same PW as for their CPCC ID)
Click Change Password.
NOTE: If you get an error message such as "Account does not exist" just contact the CPCC Helpdesk at (704) 330-5000 and request that your Blackboard Student es account be activated. Within 24 hours you will be able to login to the CAW as explained above and set your password.
Login to Blackboard with your es Account
Open a new browser window and login to Blackboard using your es UserID and the password you created above. On your My elearning at CPCC page, you will see all of your Bb courses listed as Courses in which I am Enrolled (instead of Teaching). Just remember that you need to login using separate browser windows for each ID: once with your regular UserID and once with your es ID. You can toggle back and forth between windows to see your classes from the instructor’s perspective and from the student’s perspective. Very useful!
