How does auto-enrollment of my students work?
Once your course is "Moodle-ized"* your officially-enrolled students will be automatically added to your Moodle shell just before or on the start date of your course.
You should never enroll a student in your shell. If they are not listed in your online course website it indicates that there is a problem with their registration. Once this issue is resolved they will appear in your course.
Fully online, hybrid and teleweb courses are automatically made available on the start date of the courses (usually the first Monday of the term). Web enhanced course shells must be made available manually by the instructor of record (Admin block/Settings/Availability).
New students are automatically enrolled in course shells each night.
When a student withdraws from a course, they are automatically disabled in the course shell that night. The next day, the student will not appear in the grade book or under “list users in course” because of their disabled status, but their work/records are still there.
*to Moodle-ize your course, go to the CAW (Course Admin Webtools area; inside.cpcc.edu; sixth item in the menu). Within the Moodle part of the menu click on Request shell and follow the directions. Your Moodle shells will be created overnight.
