Making a Smooth Transition from CPCC to UNCC

CPCC has a 2+2 Articulation Agreement with UNC Charlotte (UNCC).  The purpose of this agreement is to help community college students gain admission to UNCC’s teacher education program immediately upon transfer and then have only two more years of coursework to complete.  Previously, transfer students may have lost credit hours during the transition to a four-year institution like UNCC.  This agreement enables students who complete the associate’s degree (AAS) in Early Childhood at CPCC to transfer more hours than they’ve been able to transfer in the past.

This agreement has a major impact on CPCC’s Early Childhood students seeking to transfer to UNCC.  Specifically, it enables them to take the exact courses that will count toward the bachelor’s degree (as well as Birth-Kindergarten licensure) at UNCC.  Students are able to “map out” their coursework requirements and more easily achieve both degrees (the associate’s degree at CPCC and the bachelor’s degree at UNCC) without the loss of credit hours or time.

Listed below are the courses students can take at CPCC and transfer to UNCC.  Additional requirements are also listed.
