Grievance Procedure

To appeal the denial of a requested accommodation, a student should follow these steps:

  1. Students who believe they were not reasonably accommodated by their approved accommodation should first discuss their concern with their Disability Services counselor.
  2. If the student is not satisfied with the outcome after meeting with their Disability Services counselor, the student may request a second meeting with the Director of Disability Services.
  3. The Director of Disability Services will meet with the student and assigned Disability Services counselor, and others necessary to determine a reasonable outcome.  The Director’s review will be completed within seven business days.
  4. The Director of Disability Services will provide an explanation of the decision in writing to the student.
  5. If the student is unsatisfied with the Director’s decision, the student may request reconsideration to be made by members of the ADA compliance committee.
