Behavior Expectations in The Library

Central Library

All floors:

• Cell phone conversations in the stairwells only, ringers muted.
• No food allowed at computers.
• Beverages with lids allowed. (see Food Policy)
• Users may be asked to present a current CPCC ID to use resources.

First floor:  Business area of the library.

• Includes, circulation, leisure reading, coffee shop, reference assistance, group study rooms, general use computers and reference books.
• Noise level: normal speaking voice, cell phone conversations in the stairwells only, ringers muted.

Second and third floors:  Quiet study area of the library.

• Includes group study room, academic only computer room, circulating books, study carrels and tables.
• Noise level: quiet, minimum talking, cell phone conversations in the stairwells only, ringers muted.

Fourth floor:  Academic activity area of the library.

• Includes group study areas, academic use computers, classroom, media stations, media circulation, and faculty offices.
• Noise level: normal speaking voice, cell phone conversations in the stairwells only, ringers muted.

Campus Libraries

• Campus libraries are No Food Zones. Beverages with lids are permitted. (see Food Policy)
• Noise level: quiet, minimum talking, Cell phone conversations taken outside the library, ringers muted
• Users may be asked to present a current CPCC ID to use resources.
