An Overview of the (NSF) National Science Foundation
The National Science Foundation (NSF) supports many programs for educators at all levels, in both formal and informal educational settings. It does this through grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements to more than 2,000 colleges, universities, and other research and/or education institutions in all parts of the United States.
NSF- special programs include those supporting junior faculty members; research on learning and intelligent systems; curriculum and instructional materials development; awards for excellence in science and mathematics teaching, and more.
NSF Programs for Undergraduate Educators
Programs supported by the Divisions of Undergraduate Education include the Advanced Technological Education Program; the Course, Curriculum, and Laboratory Improvement Program and the National Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology Education Digital Library (NSDL) Program.
