How are combined shell availability and enrollment handled?

For the Blackboard LMS:

Availability

If you are teaching a fully online IN, hybrid HY, or teleweb TW) course, your combined shell will be automatically made available to your students on the start date of the course.

For all other courses (mostly traditional/classroom TR or web enhanced WB), you must make your combined shell available (Control panel/Course Options/ Settings/Make available)

Enrollment Management

All officially enrolled students will be enrolled in your Blackboard combined shell.  Students who withdraw will be disabled (hidden), but their course activity will be retained.

If you wish to have additional faculty added to your combined shell after the term has begun, contact Instructional Development idev@cpcc.edu or call (704) 330-6111

For the Moodle LMS:

Availability

If you are teaching a fully online IN, hybrid HY, or teleweb TW) course, both your combined shell in Blackboard and your combined shell in Moodle will be automatically made available to your students on the start date of the course.

  • It is recommended that instead of making the Blackboard combined shell unavailable, that you post an announcement indicating that the course is being taught in Moodle and provide this link http://moodle.cpcc.edu

For all other courses (mostly traditional/classroom TR or web enhanced WB), you must make your combined Moodle shell available  (Admin block/Settings/Availability).

Enrollment Management

All officially enrolled students will be enrolled in both your Blackboard and Moodle combined shells. You can control access through shell availability (see above).  New as of Spring 2008: Students who withdraw will be disabled (hidden), but their course activity will be retained.

If you wish to have additional faculty added to your combined shell after the term has begun, contact Instructional Development idev@cpcc.edu or call (704) 330-6111.
