GRN 7100 DIY HOME WEATHERIZATION

Topics include caulking, weather stripping, insulation, ventilation, heating and air, windows and doors, and water heating. This course will include classroom instruction and hands-on training in the lab.

HOM 7001 WALLPAPER HANGING AND DRYWALL REPAIR
Wallpaper can add color, texture and personality to any home. However, before you begin, you may have to prep or repair the walls. This hands-on class will provide homeowners and craftworkers with useful tips on how to repair drywall and hang wallpaper and borders.

HOM 7002 ILLUMINATE THE POSSIBILITIES: ELECTRICAL LIGHTING
You don’t have to break your back, or your bank account, to make your house feel more inviting. By learning some simple lighting techniques, you can improve your home’s character. Designed for homeowners who want to install or repair ceramic tile, this hands-on class will teach you about floor preparation, tile selection, layout and the installation and replacement of damaged tiles.

HOM 7004 DECKS: EXPAND YOUR OUTDOOR LIVING SPACE
Outdoor living spaces are great for relaxing and entertaining. Learn how to instantly increase your home’s appeal by adding a new deck or repairing an existing deck. This hands-on class will discuss basic deck building, building codes for wood decks, handrails, maintenance and repairs.

HOM 7006 DECORATE WITH TRIM MOLDING
Whether your intent is to increase the value of your home, to showcase your own sense of style, or to simply reduce finishing cost, molding adds value and style to any home. Learn the basics of trim carpentry, such as how to cut and install baseboard, chair rail and crown molding. This class will also teach you the art of coping. This class will be hands-on, but will not include the use of any power tools.

MAS 7001 and MAS 7002 THE ART OF BRICKLAYING
While bricklaying involves intricate patterns and designs, it IS possible to master. This course will teach you the fundamental techniques you’ll need to build a brick wall, step, corner, chimney or other structure. Emphasis is placed on the correct use of the mason’s trowel, level, plumb line and tape measure. Job safety and safe work habits will also be covered.

PLU 7006 PLUMBING 1-2-3
Put the yellow pages away and let us teach you how to tackle your own plumbing projects. This class will lead you through the basic plumbing methods, including the tools and materials used to install plumbing pipe work and plumbing fixtures. Primary emphasis will be placed on plumbing systems for residential buildings.
