Industry and Community Partners

Habitat Barry Street

Through a partnership with Habitat for Humanity, a home donated by the City of Charlotte located in the Villa Heights community, has been retro-fitted to a reasonable level of “green” sustainability. Students from CPCC’s Carpentry classes, Introduction to Construction class and the Electrical/Electronic program participated in the renovation of this house working alongside contractors, volunteers and staff from both Goodwill Industries and Habitat for Humanity

In what is believed to be first such project of its kind in the country, the unique renovation of this formerly foreclosed home in the Villa Heights community is now a model of energy efficiency in the affordable housing sector. In partnership with Goodwill Industries, Habitat for Humanity and Central Piedmont Community College this project was completed.

. Olympic and CPCC Habitat
