For Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the volunteer tutorial staff!
Gracious tutors have assisted students in making great and small strides toward academic and life-goals for many years through Central Piedmont Community Colleges Community Development programs.
We are not currently accepting new volunteers. Please click here if you would like to be added to our New Volunteer Wait List!
By helping someone overcome their challenges with literacy, you are not only helping them improve their own life, but in many cases, the lives of their families. Literacy increases a person's self-confidence, employability, and communication skills, thereby possibly assisting them in improving their chances at financial stability, and enriching their social and family life. They will thank you and remember you for the rest of their life.

CPCC has a variety of programs in need of volunteers. Volunteers can tutor the same student on a regular basis or tutor any student needing help at that time. The most common subjects needing volunteers are:
- All levels of English (reading, writing, speaking)
- All levels of math (specific focus on fractions, multiplication, division, algebra and geometry)
- GED level social studies and science
