Application Process
How to be a JumpStart Scholar
Awards will only be made to students classified as in-state for tuition purposes. If you are classified as out-of-state and are eligible for in-state classification, you will need to talk with Admissions/Registration and get your classification updated before applying.
All applicants must complete the JumpStart application, CPCC Foundation Application and FAFSA:

Application Tips for Completing FAFSA
All applicants must complete a FASFA application. If you need assistance with this application contact Financial Aid. In general, it is a good idea to have all of your personal information on hand before beginning the application process.
Before you apply for FASFA, please be sure to have all the information needed:
- Have an email account you can check regularly.
- Go to www.pin.ed.gov and create your pin number (It will be better if you assign your own PIN number).
- Gather information
- Social security Number
- NC Driver’s License
- Resident Card (if you are not American)
- 2007 W-2 Form and money earned record (for 2009–2010 scholl year)
- NC Tax Return
- NC untaxed income records (Social security, welfare, temporary assistance or veterans benefits).
- Fill out FAFSA Application www.fafsa.ed.gov (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

- Harper: Monday 8:00-5:00 and Thursday 9:00-6:00
- Harris: Tuesday 8:00-5:00 and Wednesday 9:00-6:00
- Levine: Monday through Friday 8:00-5:00
- Central High: Monday 7:00-6:00 Thursday 7:00-6:00 and Friday 8:00-3:00
You will be notified of your acceptance into the program within two weeks.
