Register for ABE/GED Courses at Central Campus

Describes the registration precess for students who plan to attend ABE/GED classes at Central Campus.

Step 1: Attend Orientation

You must attend the Basic Skills Orientation at Kratt Building room 105 (This is the current Schedule).  As this is a "First come, first serve" class, be sure to come at least 45 to 60 minutes before the orientation session, and check for availability at the Basic Skills Intake office, Kratt room 104. During the Basic Skills Orientation you will take the placement test and fill out the required paperwork for Basic Skills courses. You will need that paperwork folder for the next step.

Step 2: Register in your target program class

You will bring the paperwork folder with all the required forms filled out.  You must give that folder to the Instructor of your target program course (ABE, GED), in order to be registered in that specific section.

Step 3: Get a Student ID card

If you were not able to get you student ID card during Orientation, go to the ID Room in the Central High building, second floor. Show the attendant the student id number you got from the Orientation Instructor. The attendant will take your picture and make your Student ID card. You will need your student ID card to use some of the resources at CPCC, such as checking out materials from the Library.
