Enroll for English as Second Language lab at Central Campus
Step 1: Take an ESL Appraisal test
Before you can enroll in an ESL course, you must take an ESL Appraisal test. The Appraisal test is the first step in the placement process for ESL. You must come to Kratt Building room 104 to take the Appraisal test. The Appraisal test takes about 30 minutes. The Basic Skills Intake staff will provide you with all the information you need. For information on classes other than the ESL lab, ask Intake staff for availability, or you can check the ESL web page.
Step 2: Register in the ESL lab
The ESL lab takes in new students on Thursdays only (9 am-12 noon, and 6 - 9pm). You must bring to the ESL lab the Appraisal Test Score form given to you by the Intake staff. You must give that form to the Instructor of the ESL lab, in order to be registered.
Step 3: Get a Student ID card
After a couple of weeks after you first came to the ESL lab, go to the ID Room in the Central High building, second floor, to get your student ID Card. Show the attendant the student id number you got from the Orientation Instructor. The attendant will take your picture and make your Student ID card. You will need your student ID card to use some of the resources at CPCC, such as checking out materials from the Library.
