Stimulus Job Training

CPCC is using $500,000 in federal stimulus money to create fast-track job training programs that will help Charlotte’s displaced worker population complete job training as quickly as possible.

These classes will be offered free-of-charge to individuals who qualify for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding as a displaced worker or through the Adult Services Program.  Check out our FAQ page for eligibility.

CPCC’s new fast-track training programs are being funded by the Federal American Recovery & Reinvestment Act (ARRA) and Gov. Perdue’s “JobsNOW 12-in-6” program, which requires community colleges across the state to identify 12 programs that can train workers in six months or less.

As a critical community partner and educational resource, CPCC has exceeded the program’s requirements and created 20 fast-track job training programs that may provide training solutions for today’s displaced workers.

CPCC hopes its new stimulus job training programs help individuals acquire the skills and training they need to remain competitive, while it strives to build a healthier and stronger Charlotte workforce.

*Funding for the JobsNOW 12-in-6 initiative was supported by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), the Department of Commerce, Division of Workforce Development and the local Charlotte-Mecklenburg Workforce Development Board.
