Green Associate

Sustainability Professionals - Green Associate
CPCC’s Center for Sustainability recognizes that environmental sustainability contributes to the overall wellbeing of the surrounding community and that as Charlotte grows, it will become increasingly more important for each of us to do our part and choose “green.”
Private and public organizations are helping lead this sustainability charge, turning more and more to “green” construction to help reduce costs and shrink their carbon footprints. As a result, professionals who demonstrate a working knowledge of green design, construction and
operations will be in high demand going forward. In fact, a study published by Pew Charitable Trusts reported that the “clean-energy economy” grew 9.1 percent between 1998 and 2007 to 777,000 jobs.
In response to this growing trend, CPCC has designed its new Green Associate program to provide the necessary background instruction and study groups to support working professionals like carpenters, realtors, developers and others, in preparing for the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Green Associate credential test, an industry designation that demonstrates an individual’s green building expertise.
