This award recognizes a chamber member company that has implemented an innovative green product, service or process; has created an environment that fosters and encourages creative green thinking; and whose experience has been shared with, and can benefit other businesses or the greater community.

"2010 General Excellence in Sustainable Business - Nonprofit"

This award from the Charlotte Business Journal states; "The Center's green efforts go beyond academics. It sponsors speakers and activitites on a regular basis, recently teaming with the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation to bring Alexandra Cousteau and her International Expedition Blue Planet Team to Charlotte. It also assisted in the planting of 2300 tree seedlings along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway in the Belmont Neighborhood."
