Welcome to CPCC’s College and Career Readiness (CCR) Volunteer Program! We truly appreciate your willingness to give your time and talents to help adult learners experience success. We in the College and Career Readiness Department are like a large, extended family, and we are thrilled that we have another sibling to join our crew! Just like you, it is our passion to help adult learners succeed that drives what we do. Many of our students face tremendous barriers and challenges. Yet, every day they show up for class because they know this offers them a real chance to reach their goals.
I am confident that you will find that becoming a CCR volunteer is an extremely rewarding experience. Several volunteers have told me that they feel guilty as they feel they are getting more than they are giving in the tutor/ learner relationship! Whatever role you play as a volunteer in our program, you are truly making a difference in someone’s life.
We also realize that volunteers need to be trained and supported to be successful and find the experience rewarding. Therefore, we are continually reviewing, refining, and updating our training and support to ensure that you have an effective volunteer experience. Please feel free to offer your suggestions on how we can improve our support of your efforts.
Thank you again for your willingness to serve. At CPCC, our pledge to our students is, “Your success is our priority.” We also make that same pledge to you. Please stop by my office any time to let us know how we are doing!
