Giving an Hour Can Make a Difference
CPCC's College and Career Readiness department invites you to join its team as it helps others make great and small strides toward personal and professional success as a volunteer tutor.
You can help an individual acquire basic reading, writing, and math skills while they prepare for the GED® exam or learn English as a second language.
No new volunteers are being accepted at this time!
By helping someone overcome their challenges with literacy, you are not only helping them improve their own life but also, in many cases, the lives of their families. Learning these skills will increases a person's self-confidence, employability, and communication skills—improving their chances for financial stability and enriching their social and family life. They will thank you and remember you for the rest of their life.
Find Your Place
CPCC has a variety of programs in need of volunteers. Volunteers can tutor the same student on a regular basis or tutor any student needing help at that time. The most common subjects needing volunteers are:
- All levels of English (reading, writing, speaking)
- All levels of math (specific focus on fractions, multiplication, division, algebra and geometry)
- GED level social studies and science
At CPCC you can leave a legacy that reflects not what you took from life, but what you gave!
