Programs of Study
In an effort to provide short-term training that would enable Pathways scholars to find successful employment, CPCC in partnership with the Employment Security Commission, Job Link, and the Department of Social Services, researched areas of employer needs.This collaborative effort among the organizations gave CPCC a more accurate representation of the needs of the business community. With this information, CPCC provides a more viable and skilled workforce that benefits both the labor market and program participants. The development of the curriculum area is based on the workforce needs in the Charlotte/Mecklenburg area.The current curricula includes:
Computer Integrated Machining: The Computer Integrated Machining program is designed to helps students break into the field by earning a Machining Technology Certificate.
Developmental Disabilities Specialist: The Developmental Disabilities program is designed to train students to work with children and adults with physical, mental and/or emotional disabilities. Students will earn the Human Services Technology - Developmental Disabilities certificate.
Heating and Air Conditioning: The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration (AHR) Technology program provides the basic knowledge and skills necessary to work with residential and light commercial systems. Students will earn a certificate in Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration Technology.
Office Administration: The Office Administration program helps students earn the skills needed to obtain employment in office administration, as well as an Office Administration Certificate.
Welding Technician: The Welding Technology program provides students with a sound understanding of the science, technology and applications essential for successful employment in the welding and metal industry, as well as a Welding Technology Certificate.
