              Detailed Course Descriptions

              GFT 6000

              This twelve-week multi-subject course integrates the language arts, writing, math, and computer skills needed to pass the GED® Tests. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to pass the Official GED® Practice Tests in math, language arts, social studies and science. To ensure student success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.

              GLA 6000

              This is an eight-week writing intensive course designed to help students develop the reading, writing and grammar skills necessary to successfully pass the Official GED® Reasoning through Language Arts Test. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate critical reading skills, write clearly, and edit and understand the use of standard written English in context. To ensure student success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.

              GLR 6000

              The GED® Learning Resource Center offers individualized and small group instruction for students who desire instructional support as they prepare to take the GED® Tests. Students can dual enroll in the LRC and any of the GED® preparation courses for additional support and practice. Similar courses: GLR 6004, GLR 6005 and GLR 6006.

              GMA 6000

              This eight-week course is designed to help students master the quantitative and algebraic problem solving skills necessary to successfully pass the Official GED® Math Test. This is a multi-leveled course. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of math fundamentals, apply math in real-life situations, To ensure student success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.

              GMA 6005

              This eight-week builds includes all the fundamentals covered in GMA 6000, however it is leveled for students functioning at NRS level 5 only. This course will begin with covering mathematical basics of Fractions and end with an introduction to Algebra. To ensure student success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.

              GMA 6006

              This eight will course will begin with a more detailed exploration of Algebraic concepts . It is a continuation of GMA 6005. This course is leveled for students functioning at NRS level 6.

              GSC 6000

              This eight-week course is designed to help students master the fundamentals of scientific reasoning and problem solving necessary to successfully pass the Official GED® Science Test. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of life, physical, and earth and space science. To ensure students success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.

              GSS 6000

              This eight-week course is designed to help students master the fundamentals of social studies reasoning and understanding the historical significance of events. Upon completion of this course, students should be able to demonstrate a deeper understanding of civics and government, US history, economics, and geography and the world necessary to successfully pass the Official GED® Social Studies Test. To ensure student success, a strict attendance policy is enforced.
