Career Accomplishments:

  • Worked as a newspaper reporter and editor for 10 years before turning to freelance writing.  Since then has contributed regularly to national magazines like Paste, Harp and Blurt, as well as on-line sites like Allmusic.com, Pitchforkmedia.com, Salon.com, and Popmatters.com
  • Also served as Music Editor for Creative Loafing from 2003-2005, and is currently the Editor in Chief of Shuffle, a quarterly devoted to popular music in the Carolinas
