Lean Manufacturing

No textbook required! Instead, you'll learn exactly what Lean manufacturing is as you experience this fun, hands-on factory simulation.

Developed by the NCSU Industrial Extension Service, this eight-hour workshop describes then applies Lean principles and practices - knowledge you can immediately put to use in your organization to reduce waste and remove non-value-added activities. Program highlights will help you understand:

- the eight wastes in production
- how to calculate and apply time
- How to develop standard procedures
- How to balance the line

This course  has no pre-requisites and is particularly relevant to front-line supervisors, hourly production employees, and work teams.

This simulation is part of a series of one-day workshops focusing on process improvement. Others currently include Lean Office, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping. Participants completing this course will receive a certificate and be awarded .8 CEUs (continuing education units).
