What is Ed2Go?
Ed2Go is one of CPCC’s education partners for online classes.

What classes are available?

How do I register and get started?
Getting started with an online class is a three-step process.

  • Register with and pay CPCC as soon as possible
    • To register, call 704.330.4223 to register or to get more information
    • Full payment is due at the time of registration.
  • You will receive an email that tells you how to complete your online orientation and get started.
  • Start your class.

Who would benefit from Ed2go classes?

Typical learners are adults with specific needs and a unique learning style who are not looking for the traditional academic setting, but who would rather learn online. They are students who want the freedom to access their classes 24 hours a day, seven-days a week.

FAQ’s About Our Six-week Online Instructor-led Courses

How do online classes work?
Each class runs for six weeks with two interactive lessons per week. Lessons are in text format, so reading skills are essential. You download your first lesson from http://www.ed2go.com/cpcc/ after 12 p.m. on the first Wednesday of the course. A new lesson will be available for download every Friday and Wednesday following the first one. Assignments and interactive online discussion help you learn. Each lesson includes a short quiz, and the course ends with a final exam.

What classes are available?
For complete descriptions of all six-week online classes, go to http://www.ed2go.com/cpcc/ and click on “View Catalog” under the CPCC logo at the top of the page. Next click on department names, such as “Business,” to find a complete list. When you see a course that interests you, click on the title to display a description, software requirements, week-by-week lesson plans, instructor profile and student reviews for that course.

I have a very hectic schedule. Will I be able to handle more than one course per month?
In a recent survey, our students told us online “first-timers” should take only one course per month. You need to get the feel of the online learning environment and learn to pace your class time to your busy family and work life.

Do I need special software on my computer to take an online course?
All classes require that you have Internet access, an email address, and an up-to-date Web browser such as Netscape, America Online (version 4.0 or higher), Internet Explorer (version 3.0 or higher ), FireFox, etc. To determine whether a specific course has additional hardware or software requirements, click here (http://www.ed2go.com/cpcc/) and select your area of interest/department name. Then select your course, and click on the course title. Notice that the requirements are listed right after the course description. If your hardware/software doesn’t meet the requirements, do not enroll in that class.

How long do I have to complete a lesson?
You may download a lesson any time of the day or night for 10 days after it is posted to the website. You must complete the quiz in each lesson and any additional hands-on assignments within 10 days after the lesson has been posted.

What if I need help with a course?
Tutorials, demonstrations and reference materials are available online. At your convenience, you may also post questions at the online discussion area for answers from your instructor and/or fellow students.

Will I receive a completion certificate?
When you submit your final exam online, you will be immediately notified if you passed, at which time you may download your letter of completion.

What if I have more questions about Ed2Go?

How much is an ed2go class?

They range in price from $95 to $150.

How long does the class last?

It lasts six weeks. One lesson is released every Wednesday and Friday.

Are there any requirements for the course?

You can see if there are any for your particular course by accessing your course and going to the Requirements tab.

How do I find a course?

Also from our Ed2Go site, http://www.ed2go.com/cpcc/, there are two ways, either through the search bar that appears at the top of every page of the site or by using the “Browse Catalog” navigation that appears in the column on the left of any page. The search bar will suggest courses for you based on a search term, a course title, or an instructor’s name. If you’re not looking for a specific title, enter a keyword (such as writing or business) that will bring up a range of titles for simplified browsing. Browse Catalog will display our entire catalog by department and course titles to allow you a broad view of our offerings.

Are Ed2go classes CPCC classes?

Ed2go is associated with CPCC, but the classes are offered by a separate, online-only company. The instructors are from across the United States and are chosen for their ability to teach online.

How much time will it take?

Plan to spend 24 hours per course. You will have two lessons per week for six weeks. Set aside one to two hours per lesson.

What if I need help? If you have questions once you start a class, go to the Ed2go Online Instruction Center at http://www.ed2go.com/cpcc/ and choose “Help.” Here you can find information on participating in a course and on technical issues as well as forgotten passwords or user names. You may request copies of quiz results or email a representative for more assistance.

Tips for success? Print all your lesson materials for future use or for reference material. Print an online completion letter after you satisfactorily complete the final exam and give a copy to your supervisor or human resources department for your professional development records.

FAQ’s About Our Career Training Program (CTP) Courses

When will my Career Training Program begin?

Continuing education certificate programs are self-paced and will begin as soon as you submit your total tuition.

When does my Career Training Program end?

Most CTP’s take between 90 and 120 days to complete depending on the number of contact hours and the student’s motivation to complete their studies. Your personal academic advisor will give you direction.

What should I expect while taking a CTP?


All students have an instructor who will assist with questions, grade course assessments, and provide feedback.


Ed2go online career training programs are comprised of the following components:

  • Required reading assignments
  • Online lectures - flash-based, interactive web-content
  • Assessments:
    • multiple choice quizzes
    • assignments posted for instructor
    • essay style activities
    • Discussion forums
    • Chat, scheduled hours
    • Industry specific projects
    • Externships

Is travel required for any of the CTP’s?

The programs are online and can be taken from home, no traveling is necessary.

How effective are the CTP courses in job or certificate preparation?

The programs provide entry level job training.  If there is a national certification exam in the field the course will prepare students to sit for the exam (review course descriptions for additional information).

In addition to the instructor, a career counselor is assigned to each student to help with job searching, resume review, letters of recommendation, and other tools in order to help students be prepared for finding employment upon completion.

Will I be required to purchase additional materials for the course?

In most cases all of the required materials (books, workbooks, or software) are included.
