Activity Director Basic Training
Meet state requirements and qualify as an activity director in assisted living communities and nursing homes through this training course. You will also begin your track toward certification with the National Certification Council for Activity Professionals.
Topics include recognizing the needs of aging adults, activity assessments, interdisciplinary team planning, goal setting for residents, documentation, resources, volunteer management, and the regulations and requirements.
Weekend traditional class meetings are mandatory. A 90-hour preceptorship is required. Textbook for course is "The Essentials for the Activity Professional in Long Term Care," by Susan Lanza.
