Vice President of Strategy and Organizational Excellence Search

Position Description

The VP of Strategy and Organizational Excellence (VP) will report directly to the President and serve as a member of the Cabinet. Other positions reporting to the President include: VP for Communications, Marketing, and Public Relations; Special Assistant to the President; VP for Technology and Research Services/CIO; VP for Institutional Advancement; VP for Learning and Workforce Development; VP for Enrollment Management and Student Services; VP for Finance and Administrative Services; and an Administrative Assistant.

The VP will have responsibility for the functional areas of: Strategic Planning; Institutional Effectiveness; Institutional Research; Compliance & Audit; and Accreditation. In addition, the VP will help drive the initiatives of CPCC’s strategic plan through collaboration and partnership of all areas of the college. Therefore, the VP will need to develop strong, effective, working relationships and partnerships with all senior leadership of the College, as well as with all departments of the College. The VP will also be expected to work closely with external entities including, but not limited to, SACSCOC.

The Office of Strategy and Organizational Excellence strives to promote and optimize the strategic and organizational effectiveness of the College, thereby fulfilling its vision of institutional excellence and student success. The primary role of the office is to provide guidance and support in the development of the college-wide strategic plan, institutional assessment, and quality improvement.

The VP serves as an integral member of the senior management team and oversees the Office of Strategy and Organizational Excellence, the unit that provides ongoing analytics and process education support to sustain continuous assessment and improvement throughout the College. The VP provides the overall strategic leadership for developing the framework that includes methods and processes for strategic planning, strategic management, assessment, and continuous improvements. This framework will support college leaders in initiatives that build core competencies to achieve the College’s strategic plan.  A Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited university and a minimum of 10 years proven management experience at the senior level with experience in strategic planning, research and institutional effectiveness.
