
| Beth Smedley joined the Career Transition Services team with over 13 years of experience in career counseling. Specifically working with individuals making career transitions for over 10 of those years, she has a drive to help others fulfill their career dreams. Beth holds a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida in Tampa. She has extensive abilities in working with homemakers and other individuals re-entering the workplace after an absence.
During her time with the Department of Labor, she was part of an innovative program to provide extensive employability skills training and re-entry advising to dislocated workers in a variety of industries. Her work with Displaced Homemakers in Florida, led her to write a grant to start up a new program to assist Single Parents and Displaced Homemakers receive training at a community college in high demand occupations. Most recently, she has held leadership positions in the career offices at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida and at Wingate University in North Carolina.
