CPCC is one of the leading providers of interpreter education and training in the country, and the curriculum is in full compliance with the National Interpreter Education Standards. CPCC was the first community college to meet these rigorous national standards.
The Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree prepares students to work as entry-level sign language interpreters in educational systems or a variety of community settings. Students also gain skills in American Sign Language (ASL) grammar, structure and an understanding of the Deaf community and Deaf culture.
