WACC is a non-profit, non-partisan organization, it is supported by private funding from individual and corporate members. It is a regional center for education and discussion of world affairs. The Council seeks to provide leadership for global thinking, and a broad perspective for effective competition in the global economy and for responsible citizenship in an increasingly interdependent political world.

The Charlotte International Cabinet (CIC) promotes Charlotte as an international city and serves as a resource to foster international relationships, highlighting Charlotte's eight sister city partnerships. The Cabinet is a source for answering multiple kinds of requests from local government and our community. It works as a consultant to elected officials and city staff on local activities of international scope and is a reflection of our community's changing face.

The International House (IHCLT) has been a leading provider of direct services to Charlotte’s ever-growing international community. It is a grassroots non-profit organization with a mission to promote international understanding and to serve immigrants in need. IHCLT offers foreign-language conversation hours, cultural events, an international book club, citizen diplomacy programs, an international women’s group, language classes, free citizenship workshops, legal services for low-income immigrants, and much more.
