Welcome to the Economics Department at Central Piedmont Community College where we offer courses in micro-economics, macro-economics and a combined survey of economics course. Our courses are part of the social/behavioral sciences requirements for the Associate in Science (A.S), Associate in Arts (A.A.) and Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A) degrees. The Associate in Science and the Associate in Arts degrees are College Transfer degrees and are part of the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement.
Upon completion of our courses students should be able to:

  • Identify and evaluate consumer and business alternatives in order to efficiently achieve economic objectives (Micro-Economics).
  • Evaluate national economic components, conditions and alternatives for achieving socioeconomic goals (Macro-Economics).
  • Explain alternative solutions for economic problems faced by private and government sectors (Survey of Economics).
