Welcome to the Accounting Department at Central Piedmont Community College where we offer degree, diploma and certificate programs that meet the needs and interests of students and businesses in our community. Upon completion of our degree program students should be able to:

  • Create and maintain an accounting system applying US generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare basic personal and business income tax forms.

Students have a choice of pursuing our Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) in Accounting, an Accounting Diploma, which can be applied to the Associate in Applied Science Degree, and Certificates in Accounting and/or Tax, both of which can also be applied to the A.A.S. Degree in Accounting.

Students with bachelor degrees in fields other than accounting can complete courses necessary to meet the 30-hour concentration in accounting as required by the North Carolina Board of CPA Examiners to sit for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination.
